Lance Stroll withdrew from the race in Spain after the team announced he was struggling with wrist pain during qualifying.
The Canadian is expected to return for his home race in Montreal but the atmosphere in the Aston Martin garage could be tense.
That’s because Stroll reportedly had a meltdown in the garage during qualifying. With rumours claiming he threw objects and swore at team staff.
One of the items it’s claimed he threw was a helmet, David Croft learned that he damaged the helmet after throwing it at a wall.
According to The New York Times, a Formula 1 helmet costs up to £11,100 (€15,000).
Aston Martin released a statement following qualifying, stating that the driver had been struggling for weeks with wrist pain stemming from a bike crash in 2023 and wouldn't be taking the grid for the race.

The Sky Sports commentator is suspicious of the team's statement.
Croft, who was speaking on the F1 Show, informed the others on the show:
“I understand that a helmet was thrown, to the extent that the helmet might have been damaged, such was the force that it hit the wall,” Croft said. “There was a lot of shouting and swearing going on as well.

“Lance has got form for punching walls before, albeit partition walls that wouldn’t necessarily hurt him. I’ve heard that before in his time at Aston Martin.
“I don’t buy the [claim that] ‘we’ve been monitoring this for six weeks’.
"If they’ve been monitoring it for six weeks, then surely for the good of the team they wouldn’t have put Lance into the car in qualifying if it’s got to a point whereby he might not be fit enough to do the race. They’d bring Drugovich in.

“Lance puts in a lap that takes him P7 in Q1. He’s obviously fit enough to drive well at some stage during that qualifying session.”
A journalist within the paddock claims that Aston Martin is looking for an "excuse" to drop Stroll at the end of the season.
Stroll has scored 14 of the 16 points that Aston Martin has this season, and his father Lawrence owns the team.
Responding to a post on Instagram, Stroll’s lead mechanic disputed the rumours that he’d swore at team personnel, saying they were "absolutely not true".
The Canadian will hope to be back for his home race in Montreal, where the drivers will hit the track on June 13.
