Nick Kyrgios has confirmed he will miss Wimbledon this summer due to a knee injury setback.
The Australian tennis player announced on Instagram that his recovery has hit complications, preventing his return for the grass season.
Kyrgios wrote: "Just wanted to give everyone a quick update - I've hit a small setback in my recovery and unfortunately won't make it back for grass season this year. I know how much you've all been looking forward to seeing me out there, and I'm genuinely sorry to disappoint."
The 30-year-old had been expected to return at SW19, where he reached the final in 2022.

Kyrgios has been out of action since crashing out of the Miami Open in March. He was slated to return in men's doubles at the French Open, but a knee flare-up saw him withdraw on the eve of the tournament.
The former world No.13 had notched his first competitive singles win since 2022 by beating Mackenzie McDonald at the Miami Open. However, he was thrashed by Karen Khachanov in the next round and has not played since.

Kyrgios added in his Instagram post: "This is just a bump in the road though, and I'm already working hard to get back stronger than ever."
Kyrgios has hardly competed in the last two-and-a-half years, with a string of injury issues derailing his career.

He played one competitive men's singles match in 2023 and only two in 2024, before crashing out in the first round of the Australian Open earlier this year.
The former world No. 13 then retired midway through an Indian Wells clash with Botic van de Zandschulp.

Kyrgios has only featured at one Grand Slam since the 2022 US Open, making an appearance at this year's Australian Open.
Kyrgios has previously expressed doubts about his future in singles competition due to his physical struggles. At this year's Australian Open, he suggested it could be his last outing in Melbourne.

"Realistically I can't see myself playing a singles match here again," Kyrgios said.
"It's hard. When you're competing for the biggest tournaments in the world and you're struggling to win sets physically, it's pretty tough."
He added: "All my focus now is just not taking anything for granted."
