Jamie Carragher has criticised Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, despite both players scoring, following Monday night's thrilling 4-4 draw between Manchester United and Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils went into the game knowing victory would see them rise to fifth in the Premier League table as they seek a return to the Champions League.
But United, despite taking the lead three times, ended up being forced to settle for a point with Bournemouth snatching a late leveller through Eli Junior Kroupi.
Casemiro and Fernandes both netted for the Red Devils on the night yet Carragher, speaking on Sky Sports after the game, suggested that they left their defenders exposed.
"This is the problem when you play Casemiro and Bruno together, especially against a team so good in the transition," he said.
"It’s far too easy to get at the back three.
"That’s what we saw, he gives the foul away for the third Bournemouth goal."
United were entertaining going forward. They looked sharp, with Matheus Cunha and Amad Diallo particularly dangerous.
Yet conceding four times will be a worry for Ruben Amorim, whose side continue to pay the price for lapses at the back.
United have struggled to keep clean sheets during the 40-year-old's tenure, something Carragher believes is a 'big problem'.
"It's a big problem for them. They had problems at both ends of the pitch last season," continued the former Liverpool defender.
"We highlighted pre-match that they're improving in attack and we saw that again tonight. I thought the attacking players for Man Utd were fantastic.

"They had a lot of young defenders out there tonight that didn't help.
"I've been there, more often than not when you make a mistake as a young defender, it ends up in the back of your goal and that was the mistake tonight.
"Even though it ended up at 4-4 and Bournemouth should have won it at the end, Man Utd were by far the better team.
"That was the first time in a long time, and certainly under Amorim, that I felt like I was watching how Man Utd should be.
"Just wave after wave of attacks, counter-attacks, and almost the opposition feel like they're getting sucked back into that box in front of the Stretford End.
"You can't get out."
Meanwhile, Amorim admitted he was pleased with United's overall performance - though admitted that he felt some frustration that they were ultimately unable to secure all three points.
“We need to focus on the performance today was different from the last two at home," he said.
“That is also a point that we pay attention to. It's completely different. The result is the same.
“At one point, it's frustrating, but the performance is different.
“That is the fun part of being a manager - you will try to find solutions with the players that we have.
"After the last season, I think we are ready to cope with whatever they present in front of us.
“Let's move on. We already knew. We had some injuries.
“All the teams in England had injuries. We will try to find a way to score goals in a different way.”
