Manchester United coach Darren Fletcher became embroiled in an angry confrontation with a supporter outside Old Trafford despite the Red Devils cruising to a 4-0 Champions League victory over Sabah.
Footage shared on social media showed the former United midfielder reprimanding the fan and demanding that he show more respect after an apparent dispute involving players who had not stopped to sign autographs.
Fletcher, whose son Tyler was named among the substitutes for Thursday night’s match, could be heard saying: "Hey, listen. It doesn’t matter – you can’t speak like that.
"No, no. Show some respect."
The supporter then shouted back towards Fletcher, prompting the 42-year-old to respond: "And you're the reason people don’t sign. Yeah, you’re the reason people don’t sign."
The exchange was captured by X user @_StettyEnd, who defended Fletcher’s reaction and claimed the fan had crossed a line with his conduct.
They wrote: "That fan was appalling! Definitely crossed the line in what he said and how he said it!"
When asked what had sparked the confrontation, the eyewitness said the individual had been shouting towards players who walked past without providing an autograph.

They added: "I can't recall word for word, but he was shouting at every player who did not sign.
"Fletcher did sign, but didn’t get round to him, so as he walked away he said something like – you're disrespectful and used bad words too. The way he said it too, very aggressive."
The heated scenes came after United made an emphatic start to their 2026-27 Champions League campaign under Michael Carrick.
Matheus Cunha broke the deadlock after 27 minutes before Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko struck in quick succession shortly before the interval.

Lisandro Martinez completed the scoring midway through the second half as United swept aside the Azerbaijan Premier League champions, who were only established in September 2017.
Carrick was delighted with his side’s performance but insisted the one-sided scoreline did not tell the full story of the contest.
"It's nice to keep a clean sheet and obviously win the game," the United head coach told TNT Sports.
"Some of the football we played was really good, [we were] dangerous on transition.
"I have to give them [Sabah] a lot of credit, they were difficult to play against.
"The result looks comfortable, it wasn't always like that. We just did a lot of good things tonight, which gave us a good result."
Sesko, who registered his second goal of the season, described the evening as the perfect occasion for United’s supporters.
"I think it was perfect for everyone, especially our fans," he said.

"It means a lot to them, especially when they see so many goals.
"I think it was great for us in general to give us more motivation for the upcoming games."
Fletcher is currently in charge of United’s Under-18 side, having previously overseen two senior matches following Ruben Amorim’s departure in January.
The former Scotland international’s 19-year-old twin sons, Tyler and Jack, are both pushing to establish themselves around Carrick’s first-team squad.
