Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly has left his role as Chelsea chairman as he sold his stakes after more than four years with the West London club.
Director Mark Walter has joined the American billionaire businesses is stepping away from the club, as the pair sold their shares to private equity firm Clearlake Capital.
Boehly and Walter joined the five-time Premier League champions in May 2022 after buying the club from Roman Abramovich in a sale mandated by the Government following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Clearlake had previously owned 61.5 per cent of the club, with Boehly and Walter carving up the remaining shares with another investor, Hansjorg Wyss.
On Wednesday night, the West London club confirmed the duo's exit in a statement, which said: “Chelsea Football Club today announced affiliates of Clearlake Capital Group, LP (“Clearlake”) will acquire the ownership interest of Todd Boehly.
“Hansjorg Wyss will remain an important stakeholder and partner in the ownership group.
“As part of the transition, Clearlake will also acquire Mark Walter’s ownership interest and therefore acquire full control of the club.”
